Classes are designed around the way young children actually learn music — through play, repetition, and the example of the grownups they love.
Each 45-minute class is a relaxed, joyful gathering of families singing, moving, drumming, and dancing together. There is no performance pressure, no skill prerequisite, and no expectation that your child will sit still. Children learn at their own pace, and caregivers learn how to make music part of everyday life at home.
Our classes are mixed-age — babies, toddlers, and preschoolers all in the same room — because research and decades of experience both show that mixed-age groups create a richer musical environment. The babies are fascinated by the older children, the older children naturally help and lead, and siblings get to do something joyful together.
Every class follows the same warm, predictable arc, so children quickly feel at home:
You'll leave with songs stuck in your head, music to keep playing at home, and a child who has just had 45 minutes of full-bodied, full-hearted music-making with you.

Stephanie Zucker is a licensed Music Together® teacher and the director of Music Together Maple & Spruce. She has completed the Music Together Teacher Training and is committed to ongoing professional development. Stephanie cares deeply about the early years and about building a long-term musical home for families in the Morgantown area.
Our inaugural session runs ten weeks, September through mid-November. Both classes are mixed-age (birth through age 5), capped at 8 families, and taught by Stephanie.

If you have a baby, you may wonder whether your child will get anything from a class with older toddlers. If you have a preschooler, you may wonder whether the class will be too simple. The answer in both cases is the same: a mixed-age class is the most natural music environment for young children, and it's what Music Together has been designed around for nearly forty years.
Babies watch and absorb. Toddlers participate at their own pace — sometimes joining in, sometimes orbiting. Preschoolers begin to lead and make musical choices. Each child takes from the class exactly what they're ready for, and the older children naturally become musical models for the younger ones. If you have more than one child, bring them all to the same class — no juggling separate age-segmented schedules.
